What? I guess it has been a few years since I peruse the books, but I don’t recall them being fallen elves or anything of that sort.
Modern (green skin ruddy eyes)orcs are more based on the Warhammer orks then anything Tolkein ever wrote approximately. the the LotR saga orcs were fallen elf’s. That the guys at Games Workshop for the orks we know and like nowadays

Yes, yes, but the modern day orc was the creation of tolkein. I am a beautiful enormous fan of Norse mythology, and I don’t believe anything directly translating into “orc” was ever used. When it was adapted to other languages was when it appeared. Course, it’s tough to really say, because the words orc, troll, and ogre are often used for essentially the same thing all over the world. Regardless, they were not like the orcs you might find in tolkein’s books or warcraft.
Tolkein invented nothing, the entire saga of lord of the rings is based off the icelandic tales. An icelandic adaptation of the norse sagas of the gods. Even Aragorn is named after Brunhilde’s flying horse. Orc are a monster from norse mythology.
